Kern Medical Center's General Surgery Residency is a five-year program that graduates two chief residents each June. The program was reviewed by the RRC in 2007, and received full accreditation.
While the majority of clinical and didactic education take place at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, we utilize a number of hospitals in Bakersfield as well as Children’s Hospital Central California (Fresno), and Community Regional Medical Center (Fresno) to provide a complete residency training program.
The program at KMC is free-standing.
We encourage you to contact our residents by email to get a better understanding of the training program. Click here to read the residency training brochure.
This residency program participates in ERAS and all applications are accepted through ERAS ONLY!
